From the original TTA request: The 26th Judicial District of North Carolina is currently conducting a review of case scheduling
and management practices within our Criminal District Court courtrooms. District Court is where
limited jurisdiction matters, like traffic and misdemeanor cases, are heard. Part of our analysis
includes studying other judicial districts within North Carolina, and outside the state, on how they
handle similar cases. We hope to identify some model jurisdictions to consider emulating. We
would also like an experienced multi-disciplinary team of judges, court administrators,
prosecutors, defense counsel and law enforcement to help us in designing an implementation
strategy and cultivating the local buy-in necessary for it to work. Our objective is to increase the
overall productivity and utilization of available judge time in these courts.
