During this reporting period, Muscogee County Jail decided to change the food flap goal to cameras, JMS and supporting technology, and a PREA investigations conference. The volunteer and contractor PREA training was scheduled. Religious volunteers and social service providers were PREA trained October 9, 2024. The PREA Coordinator (PC) scheduled medical, mental health, and food services staff for PREA training in November 2024. Officers who missed in-service training are scheduled to be trained in November and December 2024. The agency finance person stated the GAM budget and program GAMs were submitted and approved. Once the GAMs were approved, contractors were ready to install cameras, computers and monitors for the CorrTrak (jail management system). Ways the jail management system can assist with housing at risk inmates and tracking PREA investigations was discussed. The new facility administrator was identified and assumed leadership on November 1, 2024. The agency was investigating general accreditations. They were encouraged to strengthen their PREA practices to be compliant and obtain a PREA certification audit. Coaches, PC and grant manager discussed the current LGTBI housing unit and ways to stop this practice were discussed. General PREA compliance recommendations were discussed, and minimal progress was reported.
