Summary of Successes
Calls for Service: In the first two quarters, calls decreased to 77 from last year's 130, attributed to increased Narcan distribution, education, and resource offerings.
Overdose Deaths: Deaths have decreased from 17 last year to 10 this year.
Field Visits: 230 field visits this year, up from 198 last year.
Post-Event Phone Calls: 116 calls last year; 64 family members and participants were trained this year, up from 22 last year.
Referrals: 152 referrals this year compared to 102 last year.
Steering Committee: The ongoing committee continues to invite more stakeholders.
Grant Deliverables: All grant deliverables have been met.
Community Engagement: Participated in 73 community events and meetings.
Marketing: Completed marketing materials and distributed rack cards to 38 locations, including with deputies, school resource officers, ambulance services, and hospitals.
Transport to Treatment Facilities: As of June, 16 individuals have been transported to treatment facilities.
Summary of Challenges
Program Introduction: Being a new program, skepticism is common, as the community is not yet familiar with them and the sensitive nature of the subject.
Building Rapport: Establishing trust and rapport within the community has been challenging.
Internal Processes: Navigating approvals and chain of command within their organization is taking time.
Addictionologist Insurance Issue: The addictionologist they are trying to onboard for MAT services in the jail is struggling to find insurance that covers all parties involved.
