Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees
In November, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with WADOC staff to discuss the progression of partnering with the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) regarding completing the legislation proposal for the Superior Court DV Court. WADOC's legal department successfully executed the scope of work agreement with the YWCA. YWCA continues to have independent and collaborative meetings with legislative partners and the Washington State Coalition on DV on the creation of proposal design and concept regarding the Superior Domestic Violence Court.
WADOC is actively reviewing the budget and will be submitting a Grant Award Modification (GAM) request to BJA for review and approval. The GAM will remove Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Coalition (SRDVC) as a sub-awardee on the grant and reduce the funding allocated. WADOC will also be adding YWCA as a sub-awardee/contractor on the grant for the work that they are doing for the legislation proposal. WADOC will also be adding additional funding to the line item allocated to housing assistance for program participants.
Of the 29 participants enrolled in the program, 6 have failed to report, 2 are detained for new charges, 2 are going to be transferred to prison for convictions, 3 are detained for sanctioned violations, and 16 are actively engaged in the program.
