Objective 2: Technology Development Technical Assistance
On August 5, the Program Research Chief of Corrections emailed the CSG Justice Center TA coach that several team members were out of the office and requested to cancel the meeting, suggesting that the grant team reconvene in September. We inquired about the RFP, and the Chief of Corrections responded via email on August 6, 2024: "The Grant Team is working through first-level revisions to the RFP with our Contract Procurement Unit (CPU). The team will meet this week to make the final revisions, after which the RFP will be submitted to the next level of CPU for review. Due to these adjustments, the timeline has shifted by four months. At the current pace, the Grant Team expects to finalize the RFP scope and publish it in the Contract Reporter in September, with a resulting contract start date in April 2025. Unfortunately, the process with CPU has been slower than anticipated. While we were aware that CPU was backlogged, the review has been further delayed due to summer schedules and staffing shortages, moving even slower than we had expected." To adhere to the timeline provided and reduce additional steps, NYDOCCS specified that applicants include information in the RFP that would be presented at the Vendor Conferences (which are now anticipated to occur from the end of September to the beginning of October).
