Objective 6: Provide intensive TA to 10 states, supporting the adoption and use of the Justice Counts metrics to drive decision-making. (Founding State Work)
In Indiana, CSG Justice Center staff were on site to meet with the Marion County Public Defender's Officer, the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the Marshall County JRAC, the Morgan County JRAC, the Wells County JRAC, the Community Justice and Mediation Center in Bloomington, the Floyd County JRAC, and the Owen County JRAC. CSG Justice Center staff also conducted an onboarding call with the Marion County Community Corrections Department and the Shelby County Department of Community Supervision.
In Ohio, CSG Justice Center staff met with the Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility, the Office of Justice Policy and Programs, and a state senator to discuss project updates, agency outreach, plans for data sharing, and to prepare for an upcoming presentation. CSG Justice Center staff also met with the Cleveland Policing Accountability Team to introduce the project and discuss how Justice Counts could support their obligations under a consent decree. Later in the month, CSG Justice Center staff were on site in Cleveland to meet with the Cleveland Clinic Police Department, the Cleveland Police Department Independent Monitor, the Cuyahoga County Public Defender's Office, the Case Western Reserve University Police Department, and the Cleveland Metro Parks Police Department. All five meetings ended with the agencies committing to opt in as soon as possible. CSG Justice Center staff completed an onboarding call with the Cleveland State University Police Department and provided technical assistance to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. The Ohio Office of the Public Defender shared more data in Publisher.
In Missouri, CSG Justice Center staff were on site and met with the Cole County Circuit Court, the Cole County Prosecuting Attorney, and the Jefferson City Police Department, and presented to the Missouri Police Chiefs Association. The Cole County Prosecuting Attorney and the Jefferson City Police Department opted in during those meetings, and the St. Charles Police Department separately opted in after first meeting with Justice Counts in April. CSG Justice Center staff spoke virtually to the chief of the Springfield Police Department to discuss agency recruitment in Missouri and completed an onboarding call with the Cole County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
In New Mexico, CSG Justice Center staff met with the New Mexico Association of Counties and the Curry County's Manager's Office twice, first to prepare for data sharing and then to conduct an onboarding call.
In Washington, CSG Justice Center staff met with the Thurston County Criminal Justice Program Manager to provide an update on work in the county.
