Reporting Cycle Summary
FY22Q4 Engagement Activities
Met and corresponded with grantee 4 times between July and September 2024 on 8/19, 9/6, 9/17, and 9/18.
Successes:
Moving forward with all projects - crisis stabilization center opened this week and have two clients thus far
Four schools on board and participating with Botvin LifeSkills training curriculum
Held recent drug take back event - received 7lbs of medications
Plans to expand officer wellness out to the fire dept in 2025
Challenges:
Interested in pioneering a peer wellness team within law enforcement agencies but having challenges getting line staff to volunteer
Schools wanting to pick and choose prevention curriculum - can only do all or nothing.
Drug take back was underwhelming, they want to do more media exposure/promotion before the next event.
Wanting to look into a no cost extension.
Resources providing:
webinar info on IACP officer wellness coming up, connection to site who has successfully implemented a peer wellness team for officers, info on GAM, and potentially officer buy in doc (again)
Next steps: continue regular TA coaching calls, hoping to connect with a site who has a peer wellness team (talking with Columbus Fire on this), IACP has been contacted and has provided resources to send as well.
