This event will launch the Community Supervision Resource Center (CSRC) into the public space by convening prominent state and local community supervision practitioners and leaders from the across the nation, gathering grantees from the Smart Supervision program, and a cohort of probation agencies, who will receive training on, among other things, piloting innovative supervision approaches, change management for supervision, and implementing evidence-based practices.
The main purpose of this event is to launch the Community Supervision Resource Center (CSRC) into the public space. It furthers the Justice Department’s mission and Attorney General’s priorities to reduce violent crime and opioid abuse and misuse by supporting efforts in the criminal justice system that punish, deter, and rehabilitate people so that when they reenter communities they are less likely to recidivate and commit crimes. This launch event is an essential step for BJA to help states and counties across the country identify urgent challenges with community.
