During this reporting period, the Vermont Department of Corrections (VT DOC) met with the coaches on a biweekly basis to review the grant activities presented in their no-cost extension documents. The site has expanded their staff capacity by hiring two regional PREA Compliance Managers, who will be helping the PREA Director accomplish tasks related to this grant. During this period, the site has conducted two respective needs assessments to determine training needs for Corrections Investigations Unit (CIU) and regional PREA Compliance Managers (PCMs). The site has successfully conducted the training for the Corrections Investigations Unit, which was informed by the information gleaned from the assessments. The VT DOC is working on delivering the training for the PCMs in September. Finally, during this period, the site lead has also procured a quote from Quick Series Publishing to develop an 8-panel, wallet-sized, informational printed materials for the population containing information on reporting and emotional support resources. So far, VT DOC has completed the majority of the tasks listed in their 12-month no-cost extension timeline for this specific reporting period and the coaches continue to feel optimistic about the agency's ability to complete the remaining tasks that they have outlined in their no-cost extension documents.
