The Center provides a wide range of support in response to requests for assistance, including sharing publications, research, planning guides, and other resources; and connects practitioners with peers at community courts around the country. This reporting period, the Center’s training and technical assistance team responded to at least five requests for assistance and assisted practitioners from a variety of locations. In response to direct questions from practitioners to the TTA team, as well as broader questions from members of the Court-Builders listserv, TTA providers researched the growing body of “quality of life assessments” and analyzed several different tools for suitability within community courts. After significant evolution since completing their FY22 BJA grant, Albany, GA, requested additional assistance in reviewing its new strategic plan. Center staff also presented live CCAT trainings for rural courts in Washington state and for a broad group of practitioners at the Midtown Community Justice Center. Finally, TTA providers consulted with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office on creating a new community court, and advised them to apply to the BJA community court grant program. Many of these inquiries were also redirected to appropriate subject matter experts.
