During this site visit, CSG Justice Center staff conducted a site visit with the Arizona Administrative Office of the Courts (AZ AOC). CSG Justice Center staff prepared and facilitated a workshop on assisted outpatient treatment (AOT) per the request of the grantee. The audience of the workshop was Donald Jacobson (grantee POC), Tucson/Pima County judges and court administrators, prosecutors, defense attorneys, officers from Tucson Police Department, and Tucson/Pima County behavioral health service providers. The objectives of the workshop were to 1) share more information about AOT programs and their effectiveness in addressing severe mental health; 2) help attendees understand the statutory and policy framework for AOT; 3) solicit ideas and feedback for the AOT pilot program that is a deliverable for the JMHCP FY23 grant; and 4) secure buy-in for the AOT pilot program among leaders in Tucson/Pima County. CSG Justice Center staff presented information and facilitated a discussion among attendees. Attendees highlighted where they would like more research and information from the Justice Center and developed connections to continue planning for the AOT pilot.
