Peer reviewers assess auditors' work utilizing a standardized scoring rubric. The PRC deploys two reviewers for each peer review to conduct a rigorous examination of all the evidence and documentation relied upon by an auditor. The peer reviewers determine the extent to which the auditor has made accurate compliance findings and followed the methodological requirements defined in the PREA Auditor Handbook. From January to June 2024, the PRC concluded nine peer reviews initiated in a previous cycle. The PRC provided the peer reviewers' findings to the PMO and drafted letters to the reviewed auditors to provide the peer review results. In the same period, PRC staff recommended to PMO what audits to select for peer review using a data-driven and name-blind process. After that recommendation discussion, the PMO authorized the PRC to initiate seven new peer reviews. The newly selected auditors were notified of their selection and given thirty days to upload documentation in support of their audit findings for standards 115.33. 115.41, 115.42, and 115.53. These seven peer reviews will be completed during the next reporting cycle.
