): In Ohio, Center staff Karen Otis continued to work with statewide coordinator Anthony Walton, and staffers Lisa Williams and Zachary Vicha from the Supreme Court of Ohio, Specialized Dockets in furtherance of Ohio’s FY21 statewide grant. In addition to procuring a treatment court case management system, grant deliverables include institutionalizing American University, Justice Program Office’s Racial and Ethnic Disparities (RED) Program Assessment Tool and NPC Research’s Best Practice Self-Assessment (BeST) for the state’s continued use. In 2020, Ohio participated in the initial piloting of the RED Program Assessment Tool, however only 30 courts participated in the pilot. With this grant, the Supreme Court of Ohio will perform the tool throughout the rest of the state; Center staff will then develop a statewide training and technical assistance plan to address RED as it pertains to Ohio treatment courts’ policies, procedures, and systems.
