CSG Justice Center staff conducted a site visit with the NJ DOC in Trenton, NJ. During the in-person meeting, CSG Justice Center staff and NJ DOC staff discussed the WRNA validation and implementation, discussed education for community stakeholders and criminal justice partners, emphasized the importance of the examination of race and ethnicity, and identified current roadblocks and challengesâ"both internal and external. NJ DOC provided updates regarding contract needs and approvals, discussed the composition of the core team and working group, and began discussing the goals, objectives, and challenges of NJ DOCâs TA strategy. In concluding the site visit, CSG Justice Center staff provided the stakeholders with action items and determined the next steps. CSG Justice Center staff will contact Dr. Salisbury to share a few outstanding questions from NJ DOC, follow up with NJ DOC to provide a summary of pending questions to discuss and provide dates for a visit to the facility, and attend a standing monthly core team call. There were 11 attendees at this in-person meeting; some NJ DOC staff attended virtually.Â
