In December, CSG Justice Center staff finalized the hiring for the resident analyst for the LDPSC. The new?analyst, Chelsey Wright, will begin work on January 16, 2024.
Additionally, CSG Justice Center staff rescheduled the RCA learning retreat from this month to early 2024.?Despite the rescheduling, CSG Justice Center staff gave two presentations to the RCAs on risk-need-responsivity and best practices for correctional systems and correctional user perspectives.
CSG Justice Center staff continued to help resident analysts in Wyoming and California complete their?deliverables and assist their placement agencies. In Wyoming, the resident corrections analyst furthered her?progress on an internal dashboard for DOC leadership upon receiving feedback after her presentation in November. In California, the resident corrections analyst delivered an internal draft of a fact sheet to the Council on Criminal Justice and Behavioral Health (CCJBH), received feedback, and began working on delivery of a second draft for a January meeting between CCJBH, ASU, and CSG Justice Center Staff.?
Additionally, CSG Justice Center staff provided resident analysts with direct skill-building training. In December, analysts worked on data visualization in R, specifically, importing new R packages to enable more sophisticated data visualization.?
