In October, the CSG Justice Center team worked to determine the best course of action after the NJSPB leadership team notified us at the end of September that they decided to shift the focus of IT to instituting a new data management system for the agency, and the IT department will no longer have the capacity to participate in this project. CSG Justice Center staff followed up with our main contact at NJSPB about how to pivot the project, but ultimately the NJSPB leadership team declined to participate in a modified project scope.?
?
In response, the CSG Justice Center team assessed the situation internally and considered the possibility of shifting our focus to a state with which we already have established relationships and a track record of successful project engagement.?
?
Consequently, CSG Justice Center staff redirected our efforts toward exploring new project opportunities with the Wyoming Department of Corrections. Wyoming is a state where we have a history of successful partnership, and it is also currently engaged in the Resident Corrections Analyst project.?
?
Internally, CSG Justice Center policy and research teams discussed identifying potential tools that could be beneficial for Wyoming. The project team also reached out to colleagues within the CSG Justice Center who have past and ongoing experience in Wyoming. Our goal is to better understand the state?s data resources and determine how we can build upon previous work in Wyoming.?
