In September, as CSG Justice Center and NJSPB staff continued to wait on statewide Office of Information Technology (OIT) approval for the project, CSG Justice Center staff outlined the activities involved in conducting a Supervision Practices Assessment (SPA) to evaluate critical components of NJSPB?s supervision system. This assessment aims to identify opportunities for policy/practice change and enhance the agency?s capacity to support data-driven decision-making and efficient resource distribution.?
At the end of the month, CSG Justice Center staff learned that NJSPB is undergoing a significant leadership change, with the executive director stepping down on November 1, and has had significant staff turnover in their IT department. The leadership team decided to shift IT?s focus to instituting a new data management system for the agency. As a result, the IT department will no longer have the capacity to participate in this project. CSG Justice Center staff began to have conversations with NJSPB staff about how to pivot the project, while also undertaking internal conversations to determine if the project should be moved to a different state to best complete its goals and deliverables.
