ATJRC Staff prepared and invited Robert Dorton from Tanana Chiefs Conference and Sara Chivers from Cook Inlet Tribal Council to present with Caroline Lee, ATJRC, on a panel. This panel addressed Peer Recovery Support Services in Alaska. The panel was a collaboration with Fox Valley NCJTC, Altarum, RurAL CAP (ATJRC), Tanana Chiefs Conference, Cook Inlet Tribal Council and the National COSSUP partners. Robert Dorton opened with a drum and song, both Robert and Sara presented on their current Peer Recovery Support Services programs. Ms. Lee presented on the services Alaska Tribal Justice Resource Center offers in the form of TTA and expressed the need for Peer Recovery Support Services in every rural community to help our people with the gaps in services in Behavioral Health, Recovery/Treatment and Reentry.
