The training and technical assistance providers are to travel on-site to Birmingham, AL. The Emmett Till Cold Case Investigations training and technical assistance providers will travel to Birmingham, AL to meet with Gina Mallisham (Executive Director of Subrecipient) to provide one-on-one training regarding storytelling and the significance of racial community healing. The second day consists of The Morgan Project Bus tour to visit significant areas within the community. The Morgan Project is partnering with The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute to offer a Conflict and Courage Civil Rights Bus Tour. Chaperones will meet at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute at 7:00 a.m. to check in students. We will then travel first travel to Montgomery, AL to visit The Legacy Museum, The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and Alabama State University. We will proceed to travel to Selma, AL for the other half of the day touring Brown Chapel, First Baptist Church of Selma, and Tabernacle Baptist Church. Breakfast, snacks, lunch, museum tickets, t-shirts, ID lanyards and drawstring bags will be provided. Debrief, discuss next steps, and conclude the site visit.
