Ms. Dorothy Smith, Lac Courte Oreilles Healing to Wellness Court Coordinator requested an evaluation of their THWC, after learning of the available technical assistance at the Wisconsin Tribal Healing to Wellness Court Association's meeting hosted during the Wisconsin Association of Treatment Court Professionals State Meeting. Wellness Court Specialist Kristina Pacheco attended the THWC meeting to gauge interest and support for a Wisconsin THWC Association Regional Training, which was favorably supported.
June 6, 2023 - Email communication continued to clarify technical assistance needed and potential timeframes. Grantee shared grant documents with Wellness Court Specialists.
August 9, 2023 - Late September was identified as a possible time to schedule a court evaluation which would include and on-site visit and document review. However, scheduling an observation of a THWC hearing would require the visit to be pushed to early October. Further communication refined the plan to first include a document review and feedback on THWC documents (operations manuals, participant manuals, intake forms, referral forms, etc.), Phase Structure, Responding to Participant Behavior (Incentive, Sanctions and Therapeutic Adjustments).
October 25, 2023 - Court Coordinator shared that the target date to send documents for review would be end of December as the team was conducting an internal review first.
Follow up with LCO will continue next reporting period.
