A TTA Smart Sheet tracker is kept current and circulated by CNA among the partners and BJA. Items in the tracker come from formal TTA requests received through the https://psntta.org/tta-request-form/. Refer to the Semi-Annual report submitted by CNA for additional details. MSU provides support on data and analysis, partnership building, strategic planning and problem-solving, research partner identification, and any other agency specific requests.
MSU directly delivered TTA to the following districts and developed resources during the reporting period from 1/1– 6/30/2023:
- Open DOJ solicitations were shared with all Districts, the TTA partners and the field overall to encourage multi-faceted/over-lapping violence reduction, community improvement funding and efforts.
- Items of interest such as webinars, trainings, podcasts, current literature, etc. were shared with the Districts.
- LAM indicated continued interest in the Crime Analysis plan developed by SME, Julie Wartell.
- MSU worked with the TTA Team and ILN to develop a community survey.
- MSU continued to provide TXS support on RP roles, grant writing and regional coordination.
- MSU continued to participate in monthly Liaison calls.
- MSU continued discussions to modify the VRAT identify where to house the Tool.
- MSU continued to develop resources on non-fatal shooting reviews. A draft remained with Kate/BJA.
- Heather Perez continued to serve as the Pacific and South Central Analyst.
- MSU continued to work with the District of Guam and Rich Hobson to fulfill the request for the Armed Offender training. MSU and BJA have discussed how to best modify the training for current administration priorities and Rich's desire to scale back his workload.
- Heather Perez continued to work with CNA, BJA and EOUSA to maintain the most current PSN POC and LEC contact information.

- The MSU team continued to provide support/review NCVC’s Victim/Witness Toolkit.
- The MSU team continued to assist with the development, refinement and/or maintenance of the training catalog and its contents, https://psntta.org/tta-resources/ttacatalog/.
- The MSU team continued to develop tweets, newsletter/bulletin content and webpage resources on PSN activities.
- The MSU team kept current our PSN website: https://psn.cj.msu.edu/index.html.
- Ed McGarrell continued to sit on the NIJ PSN National Evaluation review committee.
- Heather remained in contact with Puerto Rico/Jonathan Gottlieb post on-site visit (March/April 2022).
- Heather attends weekly PSN Leadership calls and will take over as Project Director on July 3, 2023.
- MSU continued to review any PSN final reports and provide a summary to BJA/Kate.
- MSU continued to attend bi-weekly team meetings.
- MSU worked with two SMEs and three faculty members to develop resource materials on officer retention, evidence-based officer training, body-worn camera training, crime analysis, and community engagement. All materials were released during this reporting period.
- Heather, Julie Krupa, and Chris Melde continued to assist GAN by reviewing a PSN Capstone project to disperse min-grants for juvenile and/or community led programs.
- MSU continued assisting with planning a National Conference now slated for December 11-13, 2023, in Indianapolis, IN.
- MSU worked with NOVCC/OHN to identify speakers and resources for their 2023 grant meeting.

- Heather continued working with Green Bay, WI and Brookhaven, GA on their crime analysis capacity assessment. A Green Bay site visit occurred on January 17-19, 2023, and Brookhaven occurred on January 30-February 2, 2023. Heather was accompanied by Amanda Bruner (CNA). Site visit reports were submitted, and recommendations were offered. Calls to provide continued support and receive updates are scheduled through October 2023.
- Heather Perez presented on PSN, Research Partnerships and EBP at ACJS in Baltimore, on March 15, 2023.
- Heather Perez presented on PSN, Research Partnerships and EBP at the State of Virginia Violence Reduction Conference in Roanoke, on June 5, 2023.
- MSU continued to hold internal bi-weekly team meetings.
- MSU continued to participate in monthly resource development meetings with CNA.
- Heather Perez worked with CNA to provide a response to the Districts on DA led CGICs.
- MSU continued to participate in juvenile and emerging adult hot topics in support of NDAA’s resources development.
- MSU made recommendations for IACP panels.
-Heather Perez provided Shot Spotter resources for CAC and WAW.
- MSU began working with the LAW to develop a case study.
- Heather Perez provided support and resources to the new POC in Oregon.
- MSU began developing a community engagement resource packet to include four short videos created by Pastor Copeland. The resource package will be released in the next reporting period.
- Heather Perez worked with Hildy Saizow (CNA) to develop 11, short courses/modules on community engagement. The materials are under review by BJA.
-Ed McGarrell and Heather Perez worked with Shila Hawk (GAN) and CNA to begin development of a Summer Surge planning resource.
- MSU worked with WAW to recommend a research partner.
-Chris Melde made recommendations on school violence reduction presenters for a South Carolina statewide conference.
- MSU shared ideas with BJA and CNA on how to enhance PSN.
- Heather Perez worked with BJA to provide CAC examples of funded PSN projects.
- Heather Perez provided BJA with a technology use request for all PSN products and/or deliverables.
- Heather Perez facilitated a peer to peer Zoom call with GAN and AZ regarding hospital-based violence reduction programs.
- Heather Perez provided resources to the new POC for Lubbock (TXN).
- Heather Perez joined BJA, CNA and the National Resource Center on DV and Firearms for an initial collaboration conversation.
- Ed McGarrell provided support to MIW on getting approval for subawards to community groups.
- MSU developed a two-page document for new PSN team members. The resource is under review with BJA.
- MSU provided support to GAN on issues of indirect rates of subawards.
- MSU continues to attend the bi-monthly Liaison and Analyst meetings.
- Heather Perez worked with CAC to identify a new research partner.
- Ed McGarrell and Heather Perez spoke with New Hampshire to discuss crime and data analysis, SAP development and partnership building.
- MSU assisted developing information for a DAG meeting.
