In February, St. Louis City, Missouri, was formally approved as a Founding jurisdiction. The Iowa Department of Corrections was onboarded to Justice Counts Publisher. Several agencies including the Columbus (Ohio) Police Department, Franklin County (Ohio) Common Pleas Clerks Office, Howard County (Indiana) Community Supervision, Oriana House (Ohio), and Story County (Iowa) AttorneyÕs Office opted in to Justice Counts, achieving representation from all seven sectors of the criminal justice system. Two agencies in IowaÑthe Department of Criminal and Juvenile Justice Planning (CJJP), as well as the Department of CorrectionsÑconfigured metrics in Justice Counts Publisher in anticipation of public dashboards going live in March.

CSG Justice Center staff traveled to New Mexico and met with the staff from the New Mexico Sentencing Commission (NMSC) to establish new relationships and connections with agency leaders and key contacts. The visit also allowed the CSG Justice Center team to strategize with NMSC staff and others on how Justice Counts can complement or enhance how local and state agencies share data with policymakers, leaders, and the public. _

Additionally, staff from the CSG Justice Center worked with staff from project partner the National Center for State Courts to develop a plan for incorporating more voices from the judiciary into the Tier 2 process. This process is necessary to balance the composition of the subcommittee and the ability of members to participate in the process thus far.

Justice Counts partners publicized the release of Tier 1 Technical Implementation Guides on their social media platforms. Additionally, the Technical Implementation Guides and Justice Counts received a write-up in GCN. After the Technical Implementation Guides were released, the self-assessment was also updated to match their language. In addition, after months of effort, CSG Justice Center staff were finally able to regain access to the Justice Counts domain, allowing for greater updates to the Justice Counts website, including extensions for Justice Counts Publisher. Staff from project partner Recidiviz also provided CSG Justice Center staff with a full demonstration of Justice Counts Publisher in preparation for onboarding and configuration calls with agencies in the coming months.

CSG Justice Center staff co-hosted a webinar to kick off the Implementation Grant program and scheduled initial calls for each state to begin the planning process. CSG Justice Center staff also worked with staff across project partners to schedule recurring calls to keep partners updated and on track to produce required deliverables. CSG Justice Center staff held calls with several members of the National Steering Committee to provide them with project updates and get their input on the future of the role of the National Steering Committee. The Tier 2 metrics process moved forward when staff from the National Center for State Courts worked with CSG Justice Center staff to finalize a plan for a series of judicial focus groups to take place in March. This process was offered to the other six subcommittees, though none chose to participate. Lastly, CSG Justice Center staff participated in a division-wide management training and conducted a final round interview for the open project manager position.

Also, in February, CSG Justice Center staff from the State Initiatives and Communications Divisions met in person in Washington, DC, to begin planning a national marketing and branding campaign and a new approach to state engagement campaigns to help accelerate agency recruitment and data sharing in Justice Counts jurisdictions.
