Operated the recertification process for auditors who were due to be recertified on December 31, 2022. This includes communicating with auditors on a regular basis, tracking completion of recertification requirements, and administering the recertification exam, in addition to coordinating with the PREA Management Office to send status notices to auditors.
This most recent recertification cycle saw the roll out of the Diagnostic Third Round Recertification process. This process included:
A Diagnostic Exam as opposed to the normal pass/fail exam.
Specialized remediation coursework assigned post-exam.
One-on-one remediation sessions with PRC experts to further strengthen areas of weakness identified by the Diagnostic exam.
Of the 5 eligible Third Round Recertifying Auditors, 3 participated, completed all requirements and passed their exam, and 2 went or will remain inactive. (These 5 participants are also included in the general numbers in the following paragraph).
Between July 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022, 78 auditors were processed through the recertification process. The final outcomes were 20 auditors recertified, 3 voluntarily relinquished their certification, 13 were denied recertification (due to incomplete requirements or failed exams), 42 went or will remain inactive. 3 of the auditors denied recertification have been approved for the Spring 2023 Path Back to Recertification program. 61 auditors have had their upcoming recertification dates updated to 12/31/25 and 16 were removed from the public certified auditor directory.
