The CSG Justice Center responded to 30 requests to the Stepping Up information email line from January-June 2022. Requests for assistance include but are not limited to: 1) a request from an individual wanting to learn more about careers in addressing human trafficking; 2) an individual in Nevada wanting to sign up for Stepping Up email updates and wondering about first steps in getting started with Stepping Up; 3) a request from the Stepping Up program manager in Baldwin County, Alabama to switch user information in the Stepping Up self-assessment tool; 4) a request from an individual wanting to sign up for Stepping Up updates; 5) an inquiry from an individual in Contra Costa County, California about who is the Stepping Up coordinator for the county; 6) an inquiry from a representative from Volunteers of America of Florida about tracking data on the Stepping Up Four Key Measures; and 7) an inquiry from a representative from the Oakland County, Michigan Sheriff's Office about the appropriate point of contact for Stepping Up in the County; 8) a request from Cape Girardeau County, Missouri about conducting a virtual Stepping Up 101 presentation to mental health and justice stakeholders across the state; 9) a request from Henry County, Iowa about potential activities for Mental Health Awareness month in May; 10) a request from San Luis Obispo County, California about how to sign up for Stepping Up updates; 11) a request from a high school student in Westchester County, New York for more information about how Stepping Up works; 12) a request from a concerned family member for legal assistance for another family member who is incarcerated; 13) a request from a concerned family member for legal assistance and mental health treatment resources for another family member who is incarcerated; 14) and a request from a representative in Arlington County, Virginia about how to get Stepping Up restarted in the county; 15) a request from Yolo County, California about planned activities for May Mental Health Awareness Month; 16) a request from a high school student in Brooklyn, New York for more information about mental illness in federal prisons; 17) a request from the Stepping Up coordinator of Grant County, NM wondering how to restart Stepping Up in the county; 18) a request from a concerned resident of Haskell County, KS wondering about treatment options for their fiancé, who is incarcerated at the local jail; 19) a request from a concerned resident of Allegheny County, PA who is wondering about treatment options for their relative at the local jail; and 20) a request from the Stepping Up coordinator in Baldwin County, AL about logo use for their May Mental Health Awareness Month promotional materials; 21) a request from an undergraduate student wondering how to get involved in Stepping Up in Fulton County, GA; 22) a request from an advocate in Washington County Arkansas looking to restart Stepping Up in the county and extending an invitation to CSG Justice Center staff to conduct a Stepping Up 101 presentation to the county criminal justice coordinating committee; 23) a request from a mother in an unidentified state asking for help for her incarcerated son; 24) a request from a mother in Sarasota, Florida asking for help for her incarcerated son; 25) a request from an individual with mental illness in Jackson County, OR inquiring about treatment options; 26) a request from the president of the Georgia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention requesting use of Stepping Up-branded images and inquiring for more information on Stepping Up in Georgia; 27) a request from two graduate students of social work in Duvall County, FL wondering how they can start Stepping Up in their county; 28) a request from a state employee in Winnebago County, WI for more information on getting started with Stepping Up; and 29) a request from the executive director of the Oregon Psychiatric Physicians Association for a Stepping Up presentation at the state public safety/mental health collaboration summit in July 2022; and 30) a mental health professional in Jackson County, Oregon who inquired about validated screening tools for substance use and mental illness for people in jail. .
