Following a request from Shelby County Office of ReEntry, TN, this TTA involved a JLUSA Navigator to help introduce the core concepts of entrepreneurial programming for a county-level reentry office that is implementing a multi-track employment program for incarcerated individuals. The primary recipient of the TTA is the Shelby County Office of Reentry, however, it is critical that SCOR collaborate with the Shelby County Division of Corrections as program participants are residing with SCDC facilities and receiving and receiving vocational training prior to release. The TTA services to be delivered included an overview of entrepreneurial programming as well as highlights from a short course on how to start a small business. Ultimately the “Short Course” curriculum that was shared with the grantee was a Workforce Development and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Life Skills Curriculum. The intended outcome of the TTA was to equip the grantee with the knowledge and tools to be able to support program participants who expressed an interest in starting a small business or pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors.
