The evaluation of the conference four workshops - How to Start Your CIT Program were very favorably rated. Numbers suggested presentations were helpful and filled gaps of understanding CIT beyond just training. The staff was convinced a void was present and the four presentations help to connect some of missing pieces absent from CIT obtaining community status. Many informally commented the workshops helped to connect the “dots” – understanding CIT is more than just a training program. Structuring of CIT Core Elements was presented to capture the model a not only community partnerships, but also community engagement and community commitment. Most of participants had an understanding of “training” but were missing the connectedness of CIT with other core elements. Attendance to each of the four workshops remained consistent due to the program layout of following a progressive learning experience: Part I, II, III and IV. A total attendance was estimated between 140 and 160 with a count of 51 evaluations returned. The evaluations overall reflected a high percent of ratings in the categories of “good or excellent.”
