I am inquiring about all the supportive services that are listed on the website. This is my first year as program coordinator for Essex County Outreach Program. One of our barriers is finding a way to have the 34 partnering Police Departments actually using the CIMS database to document a fatal or non fatal incidents. We have trained, retrained these departments and yet not many departments utilize the database they agreed to partner with. Another barrier would be working with the local Emergency Departments and being able to support the ED when a non fatal OD comes in and conduct a follow up visit or call to offer support. However, Essex County Outreach seems to never get a call to conduct our services to them. Any suggestions on this? COSSAP's website mentioned facilitating strategic and cross system planning. This sounds like a useful tool we could benefit from.
