Monthly Status:
The funding subcommittee met on June 4 and reviewed new information on sentences to probation and risk assessment of people on probation.
New Insights:
Risk assessment information of people on probation has significant gaps, such as 10 counties with no reported risk information that still receive state funding in the total amount of 15 percent of funding. In terms of patterns in the data, counties using the ORAS/LSI-R had the majority of people in the low to moderate risk ranges, while those using some other instrument had the majority of people in the moderate to high risk ranges.

• 6/4: Call with Manager (Education and Outreach, Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing) to debrief about the subcommittee meeting.
• 6/9: Call with Research consultant to PCCD to further discuss risk assessment information.
• 6/16: Call with Data Specialist and Deputy Director (Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts) and Director (Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing) to discuss reconciling court data with sentencing data.
• 6/24: Call with Research consultant to PCCD) to discuss potential formula recommendation.
