In February, CSG Justice Center staff, along with expert consultant hosted the fourth working group meeting for the Risk Assessment Guidelines project. Additionally, staff gathered feedback from the advisory group and continued to develop the draft of the Risk Assessment Guidelines companion document and other project deliverables.
On February 3, the CSG Justice Center project team hosted the fourth working group meeting to discuss the companion guide document. In preparation for the meeting, the project team shared the draft of the companion guide document with the advisory group ahead of the meeting. The meeting convened the project’s advisory group, which includes practitioners, researchers, and representatives from national criminal justice organizations, to examine and respond to various questions regarding risk and needs assessment. The discussion focused on general questions for the group based on initial feedback received, as well as pending questions the project team wanted to discuss in order to reach consensus. The working group meeting allowed the advisory group to discuss the proposed guidelines amongst themselves, think through outstanding questions, and provide any additional notes to the project team.
Following the fourth working group meeting, CSG Justice Center project staff disseminated notes to the advisory group. Project staff then compiled all feedback received from the advisory group and began incorporating it into the companion guide document.
CSG Justice Center staff held team meetings during February to debrief about the fourth working group meeting, discuss next steps and project team action items, and continue to develop and review the proposed deliverables.
