The Quattrone Center will organize and conduct an online orientation meeting for all Recipients, to be held as soon after the award of BJA funds as practicable. This is anticipated to be a half-day meeting in webinar format, although it could be extended as necessary based on the topics of particular interest to Recipients.
Prior to the meeting, the Quattrone Center will provide each recipient with a copy of the Quattrone Center Report Conviction Review Units: A National Perspective as well as other scholarly articles and materials pertaining to Units, Entities, and how they can effectively work together. The Center will also conduct an online survey with each Category 1 recipient to identify topics of particular interest regarding CIUs, Entities, and the structural and procedural factors that may assist or impede collaboration between the two to uphold the rule of law and prevent wrongful convictions. The agenda for the orientation will follow the needs identified through the assessment process.
