Chris sent a check-in email to follow up on a request from BJA regarding issues that grantees may or may not be experiencing with ViCAP and to confirm that SAKI TTA has the main ViCAP POC for the site on file. Chris also inquired about serial offenders that the site may have identified as well as a summarization of efforts or success stories.
Chris also asked if they had any TTA needs that they'd like us to assist on.
Chris reached out to Chanin Kelly (the new site POC) to request a phone call to talk through the project and the role of TTA providers. Chanin had previously mentioned that things were slow since they did not receive budget clearance on their FY2020 award until early March.
Chanin Kelly responded requesting that we postpone a phone call until they hire a new site coordinator, which they are in the middle of doing right now.
Chris held a check-in phone call with the team in New Mexico. The team did formal introductions for a few new faces on the New Mexico team, including their new site coordinator Hallie McCormick.
Chris provided a comprehensive overview of the SAKI TTA project and role and how his role can be used to tailor specific TTA needs to the DPS team.
The team mentioned they are looking to get both trainings and MDT meetings back up and running now that they have surpassed most of the statewide COVID barriers and have cleared all of the special conditions on their FY2020 award.
The team requested a connection to any other statewide agencies that work with tribal agencies, specifically on communication with them and how to handle statewide requirements.
The team also mentioned that they have a few SAKs that have come in that were not included in their original BJA certified inventory.
Chris will work with SAKI TTA liaisons to connect them with another statewide site with tribal agencies. Chris will also see if there are precedents on how to handle "straggler" SAKs that have come in after the inventory has been certified. Specifically, we'd like to see if inventory forms need to be amended.
