Chris sent a check-in email to follow up on a request from BJA regarding issues that grantees may or may not be experiencing with ViCAP and to confirm that SAKI TTA has the main ViCAP POC for the site on file. Chris also inquired about serial offenders that the site may have identified as well as a summarization of efforts or success stories.
Chris also let Lt. Miksch know that we are working on training details with RAINN for their trauma-informed interview training and will follow up when more details are available.
Chris and Lt. Miksch had a great conversation about the Cleveland project. She provided great feedback on the Assembly of Cities and stated that they will be looking forward to the Advanced Investigation and Prosecution Workshop when that becomes available.
They are beginning the technical review phase of their SAKs/profiles using the medical examiner's office after getting help from a laboratory supervisor to initiate the process after COVID delays.
Lt. Miksch stated that they are looking forward to the RAINN trauma-informed training when we can get dates solidified and a location for their in person folks to attend.
Lt. Miksch stated they will be applying for the FY2021 SAKI solicitation and are looking forward to writing in some partners/processes that they weren't as organized with in their initial award in FY2017.
Chris will provide technical review resources from SAKI TTA, including ones with steps forward when there isn't much DNA yielded in the SAK. Chris will also follow up with the trainers for the trauma-informed training and mention that they are targeting July for a hopeful event.
