The Moss Group (TMG) piloted a training program for the Illinois Department of Corrections on ?"Culture in Corrections?" to support a healthy correctional environment that incorporates compliance with PREA standards and promotes sexual safety.? This pilot training was comprised of 8 different modules that focused on topics such as ?"Professional Boundaries and Communication?", ?"Responding to Staff Sexual Abuse?", and ?"Staff Wellness?".? This virtual pilot training was presented via Zoom, with each of the 8 modules lasting approximately 20-30 minutes.? TMG presented the first set of 4 modules on November 12, 2020, and the second set of 4 modules on November 19, 2020 to an audience of approximately 10-12 IDOC staff.? A summary document comprised of lessons learned, next steps, requested curricula edits, and evaluation feedback will be created by TMG.

The Moss Group, Inc. delivered the culture change pilot training to the Illinois Department of Corrections on November 12th and November 19th. Approximately 10-12 participants were in attendance at each of these two sessions. Presenters Wendy Leach, Shirley Moore Smeal, and Kathy Kenney presented the PowerPoint curriculums that included video vignettes to the audience. Per the training evaluation survey, the pilot training was well received by IDOC staff.
