In this reporting period, the NPF team continues to work with Clemson University Police Department (CUPD). NPF conducted a community assessment with stakeholders from Clemson University and the broader Clemson City University. Through BJA funding, NPF assisted CUPD in establishing a community Advisory Team (AT) that would prioritize problems and establish and nominate problem-solving team members. NPF provided a workshop to the AT to orient the members to the CS360 process and explain the roles and responsibilities of the AT.

The CS360 conducted an onsite assessment of CUPD to inform their proposed implementation plan.
After the site assessment, the CS360 project team created an action plan for implementing CS360 with CUPD.
The project team continued to support CUPD through community engagement and awareness campaigns. CUPD Chief Mullen expressed a desire to create Problem-Solving Teams to address social justice issues, with representatives from Clemson University and the broader Clemson City community. The project team created a community engagement plan to inform this goal.
The project team presented to Clemson University's Faculty Senate on 11/10/2020 to inform them on CS360 and discuss involvement.
The project team held ad hoc meetings with the CUPD chief to check in on the progress for implementing CS360.

NPF conducted a community assessment with stakeholders from Clemson University and the broader Clemson City. The goal was to identify priority public safety areas to establish a Problem-Solving Team (PST) around
NPF presented their findings to CUPD leadership and identified public safety areas of focus including, differential treatment of minorities, tension related to returning to campus due to the pandemic, and lack of clarity about the neighboring departments’ responsibilities and jurisdictions.
NPF assisted CUPD in establishing a community Advisory Team (AT), that would prioritize problems and establish and nominate problem-solving team members. NPF provided a workshop to the AT to orient the members to the CS360 process and explain the roles and responsibilities of the AT.
