LeVar Michael, Senior Program Officer with LISC Safety & Justice along with former East Bridgewater, MA Police Chief Scott Allen, co-chair the newly formed National PTACC (Police, Treatment, Community Collaborative) Public Safety Workgroup. The Public Safety Workgroup is comprised of practitioners from across the spectrum of criminal justice, treatment, social service and public health sectors. The goal of the Workgroup is to advise PTACC leadership, collaborative members and the field at-large on ways to enhance public safety partnerships around pre-arrest diversion programs as well as creating pathways for the continued education and capacity building of partners around behavioral health partnerships, creating equitable public safety processes and encouraging authentic engagement with community partners and stakeholders. The Workgroup had several national meetings throughout the month of July as the team moves forward with developing their fall 2020 agenda.
