Omaha's award went through City Council and is sitting in JustGrants awaiting other necessary documents.
Omaha reached out to State Lab re: "phased partials" and laboratory is checking to see how many fit the bill.
Y-STR testing: By the time any such testing is done, Omaha will be SAKI-funded. Was trying to decide whether BJA permission was necessary, so they're acting as though it always is because of this permission change.
New SAKI investigator started last week; onboarding is slow because team is WFH, but going.
PMTs are coming up.
SL to send "12 things to think about" re: VNE protocol for greater MDT.
During the Omaha check-in call for March, SL asked the ViCAP and serial offender questions requested by BJA. ViCAP has been delayed; serial offender information was emailed to SL later.
New investigator is being onboarded without a problem.
Omaha got 1-year NCE, bringing them through Sept '22. They'd really like another in-person TTA training, featuring the same SAKI overview that the original site visit received; investigation information; and prosecution information. SL will check with team re: the logistics of that, especially as pandemic complicates travel.
Gentleman who was previously interested in applying to Omaha has forwarded his resume through SL to team. No new news has been received; as of now, Omaha is looking interally for investigators.
SL was joined by Pattie and Carey. Site discussed the upcoming VNE policy, almost finished. Site received the NCE. The ViCAP entering individual has begun to do so.
At June check-in call - also quarterly SAKI MDT call for Omaha - brief updates were provided.
SC description posted, and will hopefully be hired shortly. Interim SC continues to do a great job of filling in.
Omaha continues to request some level of SME involvement with prosecution and advocacy; virtual would be fine. SL to look into this.
Taryn would like to be added to the SC meeting list; SL will let team know.
New advocates started yesterday at the comm-based advocacy group (2 of them).
A budget adjustment was approved. A NCE was also previously approved that extended the 2018 grant through late 2022. The site will not be applying for '21 funding.
