On November 23, 2020, Center staff Monica Christoferson and Kelly Van Develde held an exploratory call with statewide drug court coordinator, Dennis Reilly, and Office of Policy and Planning (OPP) chief of staff Steve Helfont, and OPP regional project managers Kimberly Kolowski and Sky Davis to discuss the state's FY2020 BJA-funded grant. The grant goals include developing a state-based virtual adult drug treatment court (ADC) and veterans' treatment court (VTC) training and transition toolkit and building a statewide mentorship network for ADC and VTC staff. The Center was written into this grant proposal and will be working exclusively with New York in furtherance of their grant goals. Ms. Christofferson and Ms. Van Develde will draft a workplan and submit it to Mr. Reilly for approval.
Center staff Monica Christofferson and Kelly Van Develde are working with statewide coordinator Dennis Reilly and other representatives of the Office of Court Administration to finalize the project's budget and solidify the Center's role in this TA project. The budget was shared with the Center's development department. As it stands, Center staff will draft a job description for an adult e-learning consultant to help guide the formation of the toolkit.
In late May, Center staff Monica Christofferson and Kelly Van Develde drafted and released a job description in search of an adult e-learning consultant to guide the creation of a statewide training toolkit. In June, Ms. Christofferson, Ms. van Develde, and Najah Magloire reviewed applications over 100 applications submitted in response to the job solicitation and reached out to six of the best candidates to schedule interviews.
In July, Center staff interviewed six candidates for the adult e-learning consultant position. Center staff Monica Christofferson has reached out to Dr. Sean Bailey, a professional with over 15 years of experience in HR leadership, talent management and designing programs, to offer the position. Dr. Bailey has accepted the offer and Center staff will be working him to acclimate him to the goals of the project.
