In Delaware, Center staff Kelly Van Develde and Karen Otis continued to provide support as the state worked to develop the training curriculum for this year’s statewide treatment court conference, which occurred on May 22-23, 2023, in Wilmington, Delaware. This was Delaware’s first annual treatment court conference as the state has routinely attended Maryland’s conference.

On December 8, 2020, Center staff Kelly Van Develde and Karen Otis held an exploratory call with statewide drug court coordinator and grants manager, Brenda Wise, and deputy state court administrator, Ashley Tucker, to discuss the state's FY2020 BJA-funded grant. The grant includes funding enhancements to drug court operations like participant support and graduation, integrating the use of RNR assessment tools in all 15 problem-solving courts, increasing statewide training opportunities, and purchasing a statewide case management database. Center staff will compose a work plan and make recommendations for action steps.
In December, Center staff Monica Christofferson and Jarred Williams attended a case management/database system demonstration. As part of its proposal, Delaware is looking to roll out a management information system for statewide case management. To help inform the process of selecting the right vendor and platform, Center staff attended the demo and provided feedback.
In January 5, Center staff Kelly Van Develde and Karen Otis submitted a draft work plan to statewide drug court coordinator, Brenda Wise for review and feedback. Per the workplan, Center staff will support the statement rollout of AutoMon, a case management software, as well as the development of regional training curriculum, assist in the exploration of RNR assessment tools for statewide use, and make targeted training recommendations based on the data collected from past self-assessments.
In March, statewide coordinator, Brenda Wise, stepped down as statewide coordinator and the Delaware Office of Courts searched for a replacement. Center staff worked alongside other representatives of the Administrative Office of the Courts, Ashley Tucker and Marlaine White, in furtherance of this project. Unfortunately, Ms. Tucker and Ms. White were unable to locate the results of past self-assessment tools.
In June, Delaware acquired a new statewide coordinator, Jenna Quigley, and Center staff began working with Ms. Quigley in furtherance of this project. After sharing the project's work plan and familiarizing Ms. Quigley with the progress of the project, Ms. Quigley was able to locate the results of the previous self-assessment: a statewide assessment conducted by the National Center for State Court in 2019. Center will analyze the results of the assessment and determine recommendations.
