An advocate for the Beaverton Mayor's Office and Municipal Court requested technical assistance for a mental health court from BJA, who forwarded the request to the CSG Justice Center. CSG Justice Center staff conducted a phone call with Judge Juliet Britton, members of her court staff, and the advocate to assess TA needs and provide assistance. In response to an inquiry about available mental health court training to strengthen future BJA applications for funding, CSG Justice Center staff discussed the online mental health court curriculum, which the team is already using, and shared some additional resources, such as the Collaborative Comprehensive Case Planning tools, and some articles on municipal mental health courts and risk assessment for misdemeanor offenses. CSG Justice Center staff also discussed potential state funding through the Criminal Justice Commission, as well as for "community courts." Introductions were made to staff at the Oregon CJC, as well as the Center for Court Innovation.
