On December 4, 2019 the following individuals attended an initial meeting to discuss grant objectives for a new BJA award: Norena Henry from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, BJ Jones and Michelle Rivard Parks from the Tribal Judicial Institute, Jerry Gardner, Heather Valdez Freedman, Chia Halpern, Laura Smith and Kelly Stoner from the Tribal Law and Policy Institute and Brian Kaufman from the Western Community Policing Institute. They met to discuss: an overview of what each TA provider will do in its grant; review each TA provider’s activity timeline/tasks; and identify action items and next steps.
This meeting also fulfills Objective #6. Law Enforcement Awardee Collaboration.
