As part of the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys’ Capital Litigation Improvement Project webinar series, Randy Udelman of the Arizona Crime Victim Rights Law Group presented on victim counsel coordination. Mr. Udelman outlined ways in which victim counsel facilitates the criminal process by interfacing between victim families. In addition, Mr. Udelman offered several sample hypothetical cases based on real facts—illustrating how to effectively meet victim needs in capital case prosecution. Mr. Udelman also answered several questions from the attendees at the end of the presentation.

APA reached out to our presenter with the information on what we would like to see in the webinar, soliciting possible dates and times for the webinar and dry run, and ironing out some logistics such as timeframes within which we needed materials (Powerpoint, headshots, biographies, etc.).
The presenter provided APA with his presentation deck, which we were able to edit with grant information. We then provided this Powerpoint to BJA NTTAC to allow them to convert the Powerpoint to 508 compliance.
Future plans include providing this and other Capital Litigation webinar Powerpoints as online and downloadable resources for prosecutors. APA is currently working on the best mechanism to make these resources available online.
Due to a schedule conflict, we had to reschedule the dry run and the webinar itself from Friday, January 10 to Tuesday, January 14, 2020. This dry run served to prime the presenter on the Adobe Connect software. We also discussed the basic format of the webinar and what to expect. This took place the day of the webinar.
