The NRTAC is providing TTA to the St. Paul CGIC to further develop and improve their CGIC. The NRTAC will conduct an initial site visit on January 7-8, 2020, will draft recommendations, and will develop a process map for improvement related to each step of the model 7-step CGIC workflow. The NRTAC will work with the St. Paul CGIC to offer guidance as they implement the recommendations and identify any specific TTA they need to improve their CGIC.

The NRTAC staff conducted a site visit at the Saint Paul Police Department’s (SPPD) local Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) and interviewed individuals involved in every stage of the CGIC process from evidence recovery and processing, NIBIN entry, investigation, analysis, and prosecution.
The NRTAC team, due to COVID-19 related restrictions, hosted a virtual meeting over Zoom to deliver the CGIC recommendations and process map to the St. Paul Police Department and ATF. Upon delivery of the recommendations, the St. Paul team was prepared to discuss implementation plans for each of the recommendations.
The NRTAC holds monthly CGIC meetings to review recommendations implementation, TTA requests, and address any challenges the team might be having. The NRTAC held monthly CGIC check in calls on the following days:
