The Las Vegas, Nevada Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) requested training for their newly hired case managers on guidelines and expectations as well as best practices for the law enforcement assisted diversion (LEAD) program. The LEAD National Support Bureau was selected to fulfill the request and provided training on best practices in law enforcement assisted diversion to 40 members of LVMPD and nonprofit stakeholders on March 9–10, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
LVMPD has began the pilot program for LEAD (Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion). We have finally secured funding to hire 2 case managers to assist LEAD officers. We need those case managers, along with their supervisor and some of the service providers to be trained by LEAD professionals, give them guidance and explain the expectations of the program.

The request is mainly to train the newly hired case managers for the LEAD program. If possible, we would like representatives from our main hubs (service providers) to attend the training and the main LEAD officers as well.
This training was postponed by Las Vegas PD and LEAD until 2020, and is now being reopened. We need experienced LEAD program case managers to train our newly hired case managers on guidelines and expectations as well as best practices specifically for the LEAD program. Those same experienced case managers can also educate some service providers involved directly with our pilot program since the beginning (hubs on our hub and spoke model).
