Pine County, MN (in conjunction with the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe) is planning a joint jurisdiction wellness court with the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. The Pine County Circuit Court reached out to the National Association of Drug Court Professionals and the Tribal Law and Policy Institute to request technical assistance in their planning efforts. As such, the Tribal Law and Policy Institute, in partnership with the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, conducted this onsite technical assistance visit to assist with their planning efforts. Training topics included team roles and responsibilities, screening, entry, equity and inclusion, treatment, community supervision, phases, incentives and sanctions, mission statement development, and a facilitated discussion of action-items. A subsequent foundational jurisdictional report and time task plan will be provided to the team. TLPI staff member Jordan Martinson and National Association of Drug Court Professionals consultant Misti Porter conducted the onsite in partnership with Carolyn Hardin of the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.
