The PREA Resource Center assigned Just Detention International to conduct a review of all PREA-related policies for the Albany County Jail. The policy review will include recommendations for strengthening and expanding existing policy. JDI will recommend procedures to help Albany County implement and sustain the policies outlined in day-to-day facility practice. Furthermore, JDI will develop an Incident Review Checklist to aide Albany County in its review of all substantiated and unsubstantiated PREA incidents.

JDI created a sexual abuse incident review form for the Albany County Correctional Facility to use in after action reviews of all substantiated and unsubstantiated incidents of sexual abuse. JDI used the criteria from PREA standard 115.86 to guide development of the form.
JDI completed the review and commentary of the PREA and related policies for the Albany County Correctional Facility. JDI wrote a memo to accompany the policy review to explain the process and next steps for PREA implementation. JDI submitted the policy review documents to the PRC for review. JDI revised materials based on PRC comments and submitted final materials to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
