LISC is currently working with the site on developing an agenda for an upcoming TTA site visit to discuss implementation expectations, meet partners and tour the site’s downtown commercial district which could serve as a pilot for LISC’s newly developed commercial corridor safety work. The objective of this site visit will be to meet with partners and stakeholder and assist in acclimating them to the CBCR model, conduct an on-site assessment of the site’s current capabilities and understanding of the CBCR model, and identify immediate areas of TTA needed. The core management team has had several meetings with the larger cross sector partnership over the last few months in preparation for project implementation. Community partners have been heavily involved in the development of the site’s strategies and continue to be involved in the implementation of the project. The team indicated that they are planning a larger community meeting in the coming weeks where they will brief residents on the current status of the project and seeks community support involving components of the project moving forward. The research team from Centenary College were present and provided LISC and overview of the sites continued efforts around data collecting and analysis. LISC TTA site visit to discuss implementation expectations, meet partners and tour the site’s downtown commercial district which could serve as a pilot for LISC’s newly developed commercial corridor safety work. The site has done a great job re-starting their project after being stalled several months due to budget issues. The team is currently assessing any changes they may have to make to their project based on discussions with local partners involving work which may have already been done through other funding sources. The site provided a tour of the target area and an overview of hotspot locations. While the site’s overall target area seemed to make logical sense, the site’s hotspot locations didn’t seem to correspond to the locations of where some of their funding will be utilized. The site seeks to spend funding lighting a trial in a local park which doesn’t seem to be utilized by the public and lacks proper access. The TA Lead plans to have continued discussions with the site about this particular funding item.
