At the request of BJA, the NRTAC staff will conduct a site visit at the San Francisco Police Department’s local Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) on April 16 – 18, 2019. NRTAC will conduct interviews with individual members of the CGIC, according to their role in the CGIC workflow. The team will interview individuals involved in every stage of the CGIC process from evidence recovery and processing, NIBIN entry, investigation, analysis, prosecution, and performance measure tracking. The purpose of the onsite visit is to conduct an analysis to assess the San Francisco CGIC current model, local workflow process, and to develop recommendations for the Department on improvements.
