In coordination with Kathy Browning, MSU discussed providing support to Anniston and Jacksonville around grant writing, data and analysis and evaluation.
MSU worked closely with BJA and the INV TTA partners to identify 2019 Academy dates as well as basic structure and potential invitees. The Spring Academy will have a violent crime reduction focus with suggested attendance by SPI (4-5 sites), LEADS, EFI (1 site), SAKI (3 sites); ViCAP; and scholars. The Summer Academy will have a corrections focus with suggested attendance by Reentry; Supervision; and young scholars. Initial interactions with BJA Program POCs and TTA Program providers ensued regarding site selection and their own attendance.
Members of the INV TTA team acted as organizers, facilitators and instructors for the ASC pre-meeting workshop on November 13, 2018, “Balancing Act: Successfully Managing Research Partnerships and Academic Careers.” The workshop was well received. Several attendees expressed interest in attending a 2019 Academy. The INV TTA team will submit a proposal to ASC to host this pre-meeting workshop for the 2019 ASC Annual Meeting.
The MSU team fielded questions and noted interest in the 2019 Academies as a result of participation at the Project Safe Neighborhoods 2018 National Conference.
