Connected with Kayleigh Otero for a January check-in. She gave a strong summary of their SAKI numbers, to include number of kits sent for testing, number of kits returned, number of CODIS eligible, number of CODIS hits, etc. She also noted that the secondary SAKI POC for Albuquerque, Terese D'Anza retired in December.
A monthly check-in consisted of conversations around case review. We utilized Albuquerque as a peer-to-peer resource for Georgia's SAKI team.
A monthly check-in consisted of conversations around their FY2019 SAKI application.
We ended up providing Albuquerque with contacts for Akron, OH, as they received a FY2018 SAKI award with a very similarly structured set of circumstances.
Kayleigh and Chris chatted on the phone about a few things going on in Albuquerque. Kayleigh mentioned that they are struggling with the DA's office in terms of media outreach, and also one of their sworn officers is circumventing chain of command for case entry and things of that nature.
Chris mentioned that he would talk to a few experts and other site liaisons and get back to Kayleigh within the next week.
Kayleigh and Chris emailed and discussed the process for SAKI Media success stories. Kayleigh was curious what process is in place for getting SAKI successes out to the public. Chris mentioned that the SAI TTA team does this frequently and encouraged them to continue sending any success stories they have.
Kayleigh and Chris chatted in person at the Grantees Meeting regarding the situation they have with a sworn officer going around some of their processes and limiting the ability for Kayleigh to enter cases into their system.
