The NRTAC is providing ongoing TTA to the Baton Rouge CGIC to further develop and improve their CGIC. This site was identified by BJA to receive specific assistance from the NRTAC. The NRTAC will conduct a site visit, draft recommendations, and develop a process map for improvement related to each step of the model 7-step CGIC workflow. The NRTAC will work with the Baton Rouge CGIC to offer guidance as they implement the recommendations and identify any specific TTA they need to improve their CGIC.

At the request of BJA and in support of BJA’s Local Law Enforcement CGIC Integration Initiative, the NRTAC conducted a site visit at the East Baton Rouge (Louisiana) Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) on February 5-6, 2019. The NRTAC SME team conducted interviews with individual members of the CGIC, according to their role in the CGIC workflow. The purpose of the onsite visit was to conduct a gap analysis to assess the practices of the East Baton Rouge CGIC, develop recommendations for the team, and identify additional assistance.
At the request of BJA, the NRTAC staff returned to the East Baton Rouge Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) to deliver the team’s recommendations on May 22, 2019. In February 2019, the NRTAC team conducted interviews with individual members of the CGIC, according to their role in the CGIC workflow. Following the February 2019 onsite, the NRTAC team developed recommendations for the Office based on a gap analysis and identified best practices. The purpose of this onsite was to deliver the recommendations to the CGIC team and address and respond to follow-up questions related to the implementation of the recommendations.
